DONNA DARLAND
LICENSED FAMILY & MARRIAGE THERAPIST
About Me

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC# 39807) licensed through the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California. I received my Bachelors degree in Child Development from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University.

My original career goal was to become a teacher. I love working with children and teens and for many years worked in group homes with troubled youth. I have also helped teens who’s parents were going through a divorce.
As I pursued my education, I began to realize I could have a greater impact as a therapist and decided to get my license to start my own practice.

I have been working in private practice in Mission Viejo since 2009. I feel privileged to have worked with individuals, couples and families from a wide range of ages and cultural backgrounds.
I apply my knowledge, support and therapeutic skills to each individually tailored session as I work with each of my clients to achieve their goals, decrease stress, and overcome current struggles.

As to my personal life, I have been married since Graduate School. I have two sons. Family is very important to me. We camp, hike and spend alot of time outdoors.

I also spend a great deal of time with my beautiful dog, Bella. She is the other love of my life! She is often with me while I work and we have had many adventures together!
